Shooting Star Lodge is a small, relaxed family run hotel located on the north eastern side of Zanzibar, one hours drive from the Zanzibar airport or Stone Town.

Nestled on a headland, amongst lush tropical gardens, The Shooting Star Lodge overlooks the beautiful fine white sands and coconut palms of Kiwengwa Beach. The atmosphere is intimate and tranquil with spectacular views across a coral reef to the azure Indian Ocean beyond. All the accommodation at Shooting Star Lodge is built to a traditional Zanzibari style with white limewashed walls, high beamed ceilings and large windows.

All 10 Sea View Cottages contain beautifully hand-carved wooden Zanzibari beds draped with tailored mosquito net canopies. Cottages are air-conditioned and are also equipped with electric fans to complement Kiwengwa's cool sea breezes. Kusi and Kaskazi Suites are set on the crest of the hill apart from the main hotel guest rooms. Each suite is laid out on 3 floors with 2 bedrooms and a private swimming pool, set amidst a tropical garden. They are furnished with stunning traditional Zanzibar furniture and batik linen. Both suites have ceiling fans as well as being fully air conditioned.

The four Lodge Rooms are smaller and more simply furnished, some with Zanzibari beds. They have ceiling and table fans and are also en-suite.
